1. Use “Find MY”
In short, Find My Device (Portuguese for “Find My Device”) is a device native service that helps the user find Android cell phones in cases of loss or theft – that is, as long as they are connected to the Internet. Even remotely, it is possible to activate some functions, such as an “audible alarm” to locate the smartphone more quickly.
In this sense, to do the geolocation of the cell phone, it is necessary to access the Google Find My Device website, in google.com/android/find, and log in with the email and password registered on Android. Then just click on the sign in the center of the page to view the location on Google Maps.
Apple, in turn, has a similar tool called Find My iPhone, which is only available for its iOS system. They allow you to lock, activate alert sounds and even erase information from the phone remotely, using only your Apple account. Before anything, however, you need to activate the feature on your phone. To do this, access the Settings menu and click on your username. So, just go to iCloud and activate the Find My iPhone option.
So, to locate the device, go to the iCloud website page in the format icloud.com/localizeand go to “All Devices”. From there, just select the iPhone you want to search for. If you have an internet connection, it will appear on the map. Otherwise, the user will see the message “Not connected” and the last known location of the device.
2. Locate using WhatsApp
To locate a cell phone via WhatsApp, it is first necessary, before you lose it, that you share its location with someone and, of course, that the Internet on the device is active. To share the location, just open the conversation with the desired contact and select the menu to send media. Then click on “Location” and choose whether you want to share a static or real-time location. Then just send.
The person to whom you sent the location will only have to click on the message and the device’s location will be shown on the map. Finally, it should be noted that the resource has a finite duration and that after the passage of time, the query can no longer be performed.
