Hyundai Hotel opens in the UK and uses cars to operate

A Hyundai hotel is under construction in the UK to promote reverse charging technology on the new Ioniq 5 in Europe. Despite the fancy name and modern idea, the place looks like a luxury campsite, powered only by the electric hatch’s batteries.

According to Hyundai, the hotel will open on October 19 in Essex, England, and will feature “superior luxury rooms” that “offer everything guests would expect from a luxury boutique hotel.” With the announcement of the brand. However, it has not been revealed what the cabins will be to offer this experience.

Hyundai Hotel will have a bar and a restaurant inside. The brand promises an “innovative and sustainable menu, and a car fueled with ingredients harvested locally in Essex”. There will even be a café with the shade of the Ionic 5 for guests to enjoy.

For nightly entertainment, Hotel Hyundai offers guests an open-air cinema with a popcorn machine. Both devices will run on the Ioniq 5’s batteries, which will also provide other hotel amenities.

The big question is whether these cars will eventually need to be charged to run the Hyundai Hotel. The brand didn’t specify how this would be done, or how the high-demand electronics or heaters would work inside the enclosure. What is known is that residents of the region of Ireland and England can compete for a free night at the hotel.
