Last Tuesday (27) Jaguar Land Rover announced the launch of its first open innovation center in Latin America. With headquarters in Sao Paulo, in Cobo Itachi, and in Rio de Janeiro, in Virgin Sinai, the British automaker’s goal is to seek partnerships with local startups to help develop it.
The project will feature collaborations from start-ups, offshore companies, and offshore organizations on six strategic pillars identified as priorities in the areas of electricity, connectivity, digital services, smart projects, manufacturing, supply chain and sustainability.
According to the brand that detailed their project at an event covered by channel tech, This initiative aligns with the brand’s new global thinking, “Reimagine”, which will specifically seek to transform the company and its headquarters around the world. This, of course, includes cars, the company’s main products.

According to Jaguar Land Rover, one of its goals is to be a carbon-neutral company by 2039. In addition, all cars launched by the group will be 100% electric by 2026.
Partnership with English Hub
As part of its new global brand strategy, Jaguar Land Rover has also announced the launch of a UK-first Innovation Center in partnership with the Plug and Play Tech Center incubator and accelerator.
The UK Plug and Play Innovation Center is located near Jaguar Land Rover facilities and will leverage the global network of 30,000 startups and scaling companies currently in the platform’s ecosystem to create jobs and opportunities for the digital economy.
In Brazil, the brand also revealed a partnership with Cobo Itash and Ferjan, which will ensure access to the Latin American startup ecosystem.
Modern luxury
Announcing the Open Innovation Strategy in Brazil is part of the Reimagine strategy, announced by Jaguar Land Rover, which seeks to offer the highest degree of modern luxury to the most demanding customers.
For the group, the concept will be worked on not only in parking lots in offices and factories, but also in cars coming from both Jaguar and Land Rover.
