An economic expert says that Netanyahu’s presence in power does not contribute to achieving peace

247 – In an interview this week, renowned economist and professor Jeffrey Sachs addressed the growing tension between the United States and the Netanyahu administration regarding the conflict in Gaza. Sachs highlighted the lack of a long-term political solution, noting that the Netanyahu government’s opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state is at the heart of the crisis.
Sachs also analyzed the two-state proposal as an official US solution, highlighting the complexity of the situation with the presence of Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. He stressed the need to accelerate the peace process, and proposed the immediate establishment of a Palestinian state and the disarmament of militias as part of a comprehensive agreement.

He expressed concern about the risk of escalation of the conflict, and urged Israel to seek peace, accept the two-state solution, and end Netanyahu’s government, considering him a harmful figure who has no long-term answers for the region.
