Jusdecisum Legal Information GT Created to Promote the Internationalization of Brazilian Higher Education in the United Kingdom

Order no. 813, October 24, 2022

Establishes the group Work To promote measures to internationalize higher education and Brazilian professional and technical education with the United Kingdom.

The Minister of State for Education, in exercise of the power conferred on him by Art. 87, the only paragraph of the Federal Constitution, Article II, resolves:

Art. 1 Establishing a group Work To promote activities between Brazil and the United Kingdom for the internationalization of higher education and vocational and technical education, with the following objectives:

I – to identify priority measures and ways of action of interest to both countries to promote the internationalization of higher education and Brazilian professional and technical education;

II – supporting the implementation of cooperation activities identified as priorities according to the established schedule;

III – Promoting meetings, visits or other forms of interaction between Brazilian and British institutions working in higher education and professional and technical education, including universities, institutions, educational sector institutions; And

IV – Develop technical documents that consolidate the group’s conclusions and recommendations WorkAs a subsidy for decision-making by authorities in both countries.

Art. 2nd group Work Consists of the following representatives, holders and assigns:

I – 1 (one) representative of the International Counseling Office of the Office of the Minister – AI/GM, shall coordinate it;

II – 1 (One) Representative of Higher Education Secretariat – SESu;

III – 1 (one) representative of the Secretariat of Professional and Technical Education – Setec;

IV – 1 (one) representative as an invited participant of the British Embassy in Brazil; And

V – 1 (one) representative as an invited participant of the British Council.

§ 1 Within 5 (five) business days, the holders of the areas and companies listed in items I to V must appoint their representatives and their respective substitutes, by letter to the International Consultation Office of the Ministerial Office. Coming into force of this Ordinance.

§ 2 The principal and alternate representatives shall be appointed by an act of the President of the International Advisory Board of the Minister’s Office.

§ 3 Committee Work Coordinated by a designated representative of the International Advisory Committee of the Minister’s Office.

§ 4 The holding of the meetings shall have the administrative support of the International Council.

Art. 3rd group Work Ordinarily once in 6 (six) months or exceptionally, when discussed in session or convened by its convener.

§ 1 The Convenor’s call for extraordinary meetings shall be made by a letter of the International Advisory Committee sent by electronic mail to the members and their alternates at least 2 (two) days in advance.

§ 2 The minimum quorum for holding meetings shall be at least 3 (three) members, at least 1 (one) from an institution outside the Ministry of Education – MEC.

§ 3 The deliberations of the working group shall be made by a simple majority of the present representatives of the organizations defined in art. 2, observing the quorum provided for in § 2.

Art. Participation in regular and extraordinary meetings of the members of the 4th Working Group will be through video conferencing.

Single paragraph. Members of the Working Group may attend regular and extraordinary meetings in person, which does not imply the provision of an air ticket and/or per diem by the MEC for this purpose.

Art. 5th, the Working Group may invite representatives of public and private organizations and institutions, as well as researchers and experts, to participate in its activities, when useful for the fulfillment of its objectives, as well as not implying the provision. An airline ticket and/or fare through MEC.

Art. The participation of members in the 6th Working Group shall be deemed to render relevant public service without remuneration.

Art. The 7th Task Force is temporary and will last for 2 (two) years after its creation, renewable for equal periods.

Art. 8 This Ordinance shall come into force on the date of publication.
