The case of Renato Teixeira. The songwriter and singer have a lifelong partnership, including winning a Latin Grammy together and 2015.
Sérgio Reis cries and claims to have asked to consider dismissal of STF ministers
After Sérgio’s voice went public, Teixeira used his Instagram profile to position himself. Among the many successes, the author of Romaria wrote, “Democracy is a hard-earned good. Music is a democratic art. Therefore, I will never use my prestige to try to usurp our democratic system.”
Sergio Reis and Renato Teixeira are friends and together they recorded the two albums “Amizade Sincera I and II”, in 2010 and 2015. Last year, during the pandemic, they had to live together and had some shows scheduled.
The audio was leaked to the singer and former Republican congressman over the weekend. In it, Sergio Reyes claims to have met with soybean producers, as well as President Jair Bolsonaro, “all ministries, the defense minister, and generals of the army, navy and air force.”
In the recording, the singer said that he will personally go to the Senate, on September 8, accompanied by soybean businessmen and truck drivers to deliver a document to Rodrigo Pacheco requesting immediate approval of the printed vote and the dismissal of all STF ministers. “I, truck drivers, soybean farmers, fortresses, those who move ships. You will receive a document like this: You have 72 hours to approve the print vote and remove all ministers from the STF. “It’s not a request, it’s an order,” he said: “If you don’t comply in 72 hours, we’ll give you another 72 hours. But we’ll stop the country. Everything is armed. The country will stop…everything. From north to south, from east to west.” Soybean farmers will put combine harvesters on the road. Nobody will ride in a private car, not even a bus.”
In the end, he made another statement in a blanket manner: “As long as the Senate does not take this position that we have been commanded. We will remain in Brasilia, we will not leave there until that happens.” If in 30 days they don’t take these guys (in the way Sergio refers to the STF ministers), we’ll invade, break everything and get the guys out.”
After the negative fallout from his speech, the 81-year-old cried when he spoke about the topic during a live webcast. Sérgio Reis stated that his intention was that requests for the removal of STF ministers would only be considered by the Senate.
“I didn’t ask them to end up with anything. I asked them to do … These isolation measures are considering. Let’s do it. If people don’t take to the streets on September 7, Brasilia won’t shut down and he says it won’t work. The military can’t Do anything and the president can’t do anything and we can’t do anything. We’re doing our part,” adding, at the time, that the woman was “crying a lot” with repercussions.
