Meher climbed to the top of the podium at the Tokyo Games, taking silver with Swedish Peter Frederickson (‘All In’), and in 2016, Dutchman Michael van der won bronze at Wutton’s final this Wednesday (‘Beauville Z’) – in the team event 2012 A medal.

Britain zeroed in on the curriculum at its first appearance and had to discuss a tie-breaker with the other two riders on the podium, as well as Sweden’s Henrik van Eckerman and Malin Barriard-Johnson and Japan’s Daisuke Fukushima.

In the jump, no one made mistakes, who won the Spanish Santiago Varela Ullastrace who was the fastest to complete the coveted track. Maher had 37s85, 38s02 for Frederickson and 38s90 for Van Wyton.

World No. 1 and No. 2 German Daniel Duiser and Swiss Martin Fuchs came out of the medal controversy at first sight in the final, making two mistakes and losing eight points. This is the same performance of the only Brazilian to reach the end of Yuri Mansour, who was ranked 20th overall.

Born in Enfield on January 30, 1983, Maher won his second Olympic gold medal – and was a team champion at the 2012 London Games. He finished 19th in the individual competition in Beijing in 2008, ninth in London and 25th in Rio 2016.

After surgery again in early 2020, he recovered with great effort, and even the Kovit-19 epidemic did not stop his dream of going to Tokyo with “Explosion W”, in which he won several matches.

With Maher’s victory, Great Britain won its fifth medal at equestrian events in Tokyo, equaling performance in London. The team won gold and individual silver with Tom McQueen in the CCE, as well as team and individual bronze with Charlotte Dujardin in the draw.
