Streicher enlisted another rescuer, John Debaker, to help save the animal. The duo opened the sewer and the process began.
“John jumped in to do the initial catch,” said Stracher. “I stayed there to protect him.”
He watches:
After a while, they managed to get the little animal safely out of the hole. Although he wanted to be reunited with his mother, they knew that strong storms in the area could be dangerous in the future.
In order to protect the pup, Stracher took him to a licensed rehab so he could adjust and thrive safely and healthy. After a while, they will be taken out into the wild.
“She was integrated into a group of other orphans, who were then raised as a family,” said Stracher.
It was clearly only a matter of time for the animal to prepare itself and return to its natural habitat with more fitness.
“She was strong and healthy and very wild at the time she was released,” said Stracher. “I’m sure it will work!”
