After two years without the traditional New Year’s Eve party, due to the Covid-19 scenario, the Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Corporation for Culture, Tourism and Events (Manoscult), gathered about 100,000 people on the beach of Ponta Negra on this Saturday night, 12/31, to welcome the 2023, With “Sustainable New Year’s Eve Manaus, Floresta Viva”.

Attractions such as Cauxi Eletrizado Band, Show da Aparecida drums, George Japa, Uendel Pinheiro, Joyce Cândido, Official 80 band, Guto Lima and Mikael, as well as singer Simone Lima, performed on the big party stage.

“Mayor David Almeida’s directive is that all residents present celebrate the New Year that begins. Manaus has accomplished and delivered a lot in 2022. The coming New Year will be promising for our city of Manaus, ”said Manauscult CEO, Alonso Oliveira.

After the countdown, the audience that was on the beach of Ponta Negra was accompanied by fireworks against the backdrop of Rio Negro, which in this version had the effect of pyromusic synchronizing music and fireworks, and lasted for ten minutes.

“The most beautiful part of the night was looking up at the sky and seeing everything shine. Taking a picture with your wife against that backdrop of fireworks is just incredible,” said sales promoter Wesley Aguiar, 36.

The low-noise fireworks display was conceived by the audience who watched the minutes count down before the end of the year. Manoscult, from the beginning of Mayor David Almeida’s administration, has adopted the use of fireworks without loud noise in order to combat noise and environmental pollution, in order to protect the welfare of the community, especially those who are sensitive to noise, such as the elderly, children and people with disabilities, providing comfort, In addition to taking care of animals affected by the noise of fireworks.

The Manaus City Council proposed, when planning the “Sustainable New Year’s Eve in Manaus, Floresta Viva”, based on sustainability, to consider the need to adopt individual and collective actions that can affect future generations, such as, for example, the correct disposal of garbage , saving water, creating community gardens, and projects to generate income from recycling, among other initiatives.

“Sustainable New Year’s Eve, Floresta Viva”, gathered six thousand people on the edge of Amarilino, in the neighborhood of Educandos, in the Southern District. Presentations started at 7 p.m. Impacto, Tomi Xote, Battery Show United Kingdom, Mikael and Marquinho Lessa and George Japa, as well as Tô na Vibe were on stage.

The fireworks show lasted ten minutes and decorated the sky from the belvedere on Amarelinho beach with multicolored effects with pancakes of different effects in crackling, churros, chrysanthemums, camuros, candela and others.
