McLaren said it is investigating a team member for offensive tweets against Lewis Hamilton. Named “Katie”, she would author a series of publications calling the British pilot an “idiot” in 2020 and 2021.

The posts have occurred on various occasions: one was when Hamilton returned to the network after testing positive for Covid-19 in 2020. “What a real idiot! I can’t see anyone going along with it,” the employee wrote.
Other offensive posts came when he was dropped from the grid at the Interlagos GP in November 2021, and when Hamilton was knighted by Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Palace in London, UK, at the end of the 2021 season.
