Minas Gerais confirms three cases of the Omicron variant |  Minas Gerais

The government of Minas Gerais confirmed Three cases of the omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, not a condition. One of the patients came from Mozambique while the other two arrived from South Africa. Confirmation was issued Friday afternoon (17) by the State Department of Health (SES).

The cases were evaluated by the Ezequiel Dias Foundation (FUNED). Patients in Belo Horizonte. There are two women and a man. Cases have already been confirmed by the Ministry of Health, symptoms are mild and patients are in home isolation.

The other two suspected cases of omicron are under analysis. The result should appear within five to seven working days.

SES monitors others three cases. Two of them are from the United States and the other is from Italy. “Although they are not classified as suspects, given the surveillance that has been established in the state, samples will be sequenced because of their travel history and because they tested positive for Covid-19 and had even mild symptoms. 14 days after returning to Brazil”.

Samples of two of them were analyzed and the delta variant was confirmed in the case that passed through Italy and in one case that passed through the United States.
