This is the second time that British Columbia has hosted the event, which, in addition to Brazilian athletes, will host fighters from Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Spain. The competition will be broadcast on Canal Combate and AJPTV, on Youtube.
The competition is worth two points in the rankings that rank athletes for the Abu Dhabi World Championships in November. The event will also have a special space for athletes ages 5 to 16 from social Jiu-Jitsu projects across the state. On Friday, there are 500 places available, and so far, 400 children and teens have already been registered.
“Balneário Cambori is a growing reference for major events. This international competition, in partnership with Abu Dhabi, will connect sport, social development and education, motivate, prepare and shape new champions. Events of this scale, which promote and inspire new generations to follow the love of sport, also boost our tourism and position Balneário Cambori, increasingly , as a sign of the international scene as a privileged destination, ”mayor Fabricio Oliveira believes.
In addition to the Expocentro, the competitors will also visit a well-known tourist site in Balneário Cambori. The weigh-in for Abu Dhabi Jiu-jitsu Pro (AJP) participants will be held at the FG Big Wheel, from 2pm to 6pm.
