From the newsroom – Visas for international students, including from Brazil, came into effect in the United Kingdom, with the aim of streamlining paperwork-related bureaucracy so that exchange students can obtain approval for the academic term starting in September. In this way, the “United Kingdom Immigration Department” – UK Visas and Immigration -, re-established priority in the document issuing process for foreign students.
With the re-establishment of visas for foreign students, the process became more dynamic, highlighting two categories: priority and high priority. According to the UK authorities, anyone who wants to apply for priority must pay 500 euros in addition to the traditional fee. For this department, the response time is five working days.
In this case, requests for those who decide to apply for super fast visa issuance will be responded to within one business day. The type with the most active response flow will have an additional value of 800 euros to gain access to this facility.
It is important to note that priority and super priority values are added to the regular rates and fees for obtaining a British visa. In general, the cost of issuing within the usual period is between 300 and 400 euros depending on the type of visa.
It should also be noted that the service is personal and the value is valid for one person only. Therefore, for families applying for priority, each member has to pay their priority fee.
Visa for Brazilians
Although there is an interesting opportunity for those who have a short deadline for obtaining a document, not all UK visa application centers will be innovative. This is because it is considered a “premium” service and therefore, only a few offices around the world offer it.
For example, in the application centers in Brazil, it is impossible to count on the super priority category: none of the Brazilian offices offer the possibility of issuing a visa in one business day.
On the other hand, it is already possible to request priority service in Brazilian countries. However, priority visa issuance takes place in only two centers: the Porto Alegre Unit in Rio Grande do Sul and the Recife Unit in Pernambuco. Users in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia do not have access to document delivery within five working days.
Issuance of Visa
A visa is not required for those traveling to the UK for less than 180 days. However, in these cases, it is mandatory to submit certain documents to indicate the reason for travel, date of return and proof of visitorship. Financial conditions to be in England for a given period.
In the case of more extensive trips, such as undergraduate students or workers, a visa is required. This is because a document is required to stay in British territory for more than six months.
