No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic and No. 2 ranked WTA Iga Swiatek will start the 2024 season in Australia, competing in the United Cup, a mixed tournament between countries whose draw was held on Monday.

In Perth, Serbia will face the Czech Republic and China, while Poland will face Spain, with a third country to be determined.

The United States, the current champion of this tournament, will play Taylor Fritz and Jessica Pegula against Australia and the United Kingdom, while Greece, the second seed, will face Canada and a third country with the first two numbers, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari.

At 35 years old and returning after maternity leave, Angelique Kerber will lead the German national team that will play in Sydney against Italy and France.

Finally, Group 6 will consist of Croatia, Netherlands and Norway, led by Casper Ruud.

Each team, consisting of three players and the same number of women, will participate in the group stage against two opponents, where they will play two men’s singles matches, two women’s matches, and a mixed doubles match.

The champions of each group qualify for the final stage, in which the three winners in the qualifiers and the best runner-up advance to the semi-finals, which will be held like the final in Sydney.

The tournament, whose second edition will be held from December 29 to January 7, will pay out prizes worth US$15 million and distribute points across the ATP and WTA rankings.
