The decision was registered in the Official Journal of the Union (DOU), excluding the alliances between Novo and the Workers' Party, as well as PCdoB, PV, Psol and Rede.

Last Friday, the 5th of this month, the New National Directorate of the Directorate of Education announced its directives for the current municipal elections. A notable rule that was revealed was the ban on forming alliances or alliances with the Brazilian Federation of Hope (which includes PT, PCdoB and PV) and the Psol-Rede Federation (which includes Psol and Rede).

Eduardo Ribeiro, president of Novo, considered this a clear guideline for the party. Ribeiro stressed that “alliances with parties such as the Workers' Party, Rede and Psol are not compatible with our ideology, our global perspective and our morals.”

Electoral legislation requires that the guidelines be published in the document of understanding 180 days before the elections, a period that ended last Saturday, June 6. The guidelines also provide guidance on the procedures for selecting and replacing candidates.

He added: “We are optimistic about the upcoming elections. We have more than 60,000 members and are present in more than 300 municipalities in Brazil. With hundreds of excellent candidates, Novo expects to reach a new level after these elections.”
