Several videos, recorded by people in the vicinity of the site, show the plane parachuting into the city center, as shown in the following players:
according to WRTV IndianapolisAccording to Indiana State Police Sergeant Joao Perrin, the pilot was unharmed after he activated the executive jet’s parachute, ensuring the plane reached safely to the ground.
data Aviation Safety Network It indicates that the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet G2 aircraft model is registered under registration N15VJ, an example manufactured in 2020.

It is not clear what caused the emergency landing, but the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said the pilot reported that while trying to gain altitude, the engine began to fail and lost power.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will collect electronic equipment from the aircraft to try to determine the cause of the problem.
Aircraft from the American manufacturer Cirrus, with both piston engines and the SF50 single-engine jet model, have a parachute system available to the pilot in emergency situations where the flight cannot continue until a safe landing.
