Hosting a student exchange is the dream of many, especially Brazilians. To help you get closer to that realization, learn about two initiatives offering study programs in Canada and the UK.
In addition to scholarships, the Université de Montréal offers admission fee waivers for Brazilians to study undergraduate and doctoral programs in Canada. According to the organizers, students can get up to 50% tuition fee waiver and full fee waiver for the admission period (Winter 2023 and Fall 2033).
Counselors and experts from Canadian universities will be at the student hall in São Paulo on October 15 and 16 to clarify the steps and processes of admission. On the 17th at 6:00 pm there will be an in-person lecture on the Alianza Francesa Language Network. The event is free and registration is now open.
The Canadian institute offers students an intensive French language learning program before starting their university studies. The program consists of four months of French classes, allowing students to come to the country already knowing the local language and able to communicate and follow academic activities.
For those wishing to study in the UK, the Chevening Scholarship is open for applications until 1 November Website. The initiative offers scholarships for one-year master’s programs at several universities in European countries.
The scholarships cover round-trip airfare to the UK, tuition fees for the chosen course, university administration fees and a monthly stipend for the student’s personal expenses.
The selection process consists of two phases. First, the applicant registers on the program’s website by filling an online form with the courses they wish to study. It submits the required documents, which include degrees, academic records, university acceptance letters and letters of recommendation.
In the second stage, applicants are invited for an interview in English at the British Embassy or cities where the British Embassy is located. Other requirements expected from participants: have at least two years of professional experience (volunteer work and paid or unpaid internships also apply here); They wish to return to their home country after completing their studies to apply the knowledge gained in the UK; Have a professional history of excellence and accomplishments, in addition to becoming an outstanding leader in his/her field; Demonstrate that you have the necessary personal qualities to benefit from the scholarship to use in your career; While you study, you want to connect with fellow program mates after you return to your home country and get a clear idea of how you can benefit your country.
