Recorded, Domingo Ignores Surgery, Tita Music Removal · TV News

Recorded, Domingão com Huck ignored health problems and the passing of musician Branco Melo when welcoming the band Tita. This Sunday (28), he performed normally with the group on the Globo program. The artist announced on Tuesday (23) that he will undergo a new operation after being diagnosed with an early stage tumor in his tonsils.

Even Malu Madere's husband, Toni Pilotto, joked that he “debuted” as a vocalist on Sonífero Ilha. The song was originally sung by Paulo Miklos, who pursued a solo career, and Branco Melo.

Milo has struggled to return to singing and is still suffering from the effects of treatment for laryngeal cancer. In 2021, he underwent surgery again to remove a tumor in his hypopharynx.

Titàs performed with Vitor Klee, who showed off his interpretation of the 1988 classic Marvin.

See a note from Titas about Branco Melo's absence due to his health concerns:

Branco Melo will undergo a new operation, this time to remove a small primary tumor located in one of his tonsils, which was discovered during a routine examination.

He will be out of the show for a while and will return when he is fully recovered. Sergio Brito, Tony Pilotto, Beto Lee and Mario Faber will continue their concert schedule with musician Caio Joyce, who will take over on bass until he returns.

What happened to Branco Melo?

Branco Melo has previously undergone two other surgeries in the area. In November 2022, the musician was diagnosed with a tumor in his hypopharynx, at the entrance to his esophagus, which has left him completely voiceless. Like the current tumor, this one was discovered during a routine check-up.

In October 2023, the guitarist was hospitalized again due to cancer. He had to have a small primary tumor on the edge of his tongue removed through a medical procedure.

The first oncology treatment was performed in 2018. During the Giants' 40th Anniversary Tour, he also celebrated his cancer recovery. However, he needed to undergo surgery again, a few months later.
