According to a survey conducted by the University of Bristol, UK, it has indicated that people who engage in physical activities have higher levels of concentration than those who do not. According to the survey, 21% of people who incorporated exercise into their routine reported an improvement in focus. 25% had an improvement in their professional performance and 41% reported being more motivated.
In some occupations, a low level of concentration can have effects on occupational performance. In the case of musicians, for example, when composing a song, this process can be damaged. This is what happened to musician Sergipe Robert Rodriguez who, after suffering from a lack of focus due to lack of physical activity, was able to change this scenario when he started boxing.
“I was having a hard time composing my songs. I was in the studio practicing and things didn’t seem to be going. That’s when I realized my mental health was deteriorating. I announced when I started boxing everything changed.”
According to him, after the start of classes, his professional performance, interpretations of songs improved and he was able to better fulfill his obligations.
“I am a different person, the timbre of my voice seems to be more harmonious. I manage to fulfill my obligations and there is still time to practice,” said the musician.
According to Robert, this was one of the best things he ever did to improve his career. Physical activities improved their performance and contributed to a healthier life.
“This was definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done. In addition to helping me as a musician, it’s helped improve my health. I used to stay in the studio for hours and always eat junk, now I’m more focused on taking care of my body.”
