Yesterday, Electronic Arts and DICE announced the end of support for Battlefield 2042 as they will focus entirely on the future of Battlefield, which will feature a new narrative experience developed in collaboration with EA Motive Studio, the latest team hired for the series.
Motive Studio, known for the Dead Space remake, has Marvel's Iron Man project on its hands, one of the few licensed games not canceled by Electronic Arts, which it will work on in conjunction with a new Battlefield experience in development.
If this has you wondering about the possibilities of a Dead Space 2 remake, Jeff Grubb says Motive tried to get this project approved, but Electronic Arts didn't. According to Grubb, a well-known unofficial source, the poor sales of the Dead Space remake are the reason why Motive did not get the green light for the sequel.
Grubb says Motive worked on a prototype version of Dead Space 2 and was experimenting with ideas to move the project forward, but EA scrapped that and put the teams on those two existing works-in-progress.
