George Russell is still looking for the top 10 in 2021. In the final stage, at the Austrian Grand Prix, the Briton finished 10th, but after an uphill battle with Fernando Alonso – who said he was “a bit sad” because he took Russell’s chance – The two-time champion ended up last in the scoring area.
Now for the next stage at Silverstone, Russell’s home, the first qualifying race will take place, which will see the 100km race to determine the grid for the British Grand Prix after a record qualifying session on Friday instead of the usual Saturday. It will also be the UK’s most popular sporting event since the Covid-19 pandemic, so the Williams driver is excited to be back there, although he is wary of Williams’ performance in the new model.
