Liverpool, UK- Egyptian Mohamed Salah put an end to speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Liverpool on Friday, which could run until 2025.
Salah, who scored 156 goals in 254 appearances for the Reds, has just entered his final year of contract with the English side.
Negotiations over the renewal continued for months at the expense of the salary demanded by the Egyptian star, but once the differences were resolved and the new contract signed, the player announced that he wanted to continue winning titles at Anfield.
“I feel good and excited to win titles with the club,” Salah told Liverpool’s website. “It’s a happy day for everyone.”
“It took some time, I think, to renew, but now it’s all over and we just have to focus on what’s to come,” he continued.
Since arriving from Roma in 2017, Salah has become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad, helping to win titles in England and Europe.
There is no doubt that retaining the Egyptian player is a big step for Liverpool to continue its struggle for titles under the leadership of Klopp, who also renewed his contract, until 2026.
