Municipalities in the Medio Valle do Itajai region are scheduled to receive doses of the dengue vaccine in the fourth shipment of the vaccine sent by the Ministry of Health. This information was confirmed by the Ministry's Minister of Health and Environmental Control, Ethel Maciel, in a press conference. This Thursday Monday (25).

This is the fourth shipment of vaccine doses to the United States. Municipalities North Santa Catarina received vaccinations in February. Then, in April, the municipalities of Greater Florianópolis were also included.

The shipment intended to administer the second dose must be sent at a later date, taking into account the recommended three-month period for completing the vaccination schedule.

For the whole of Brazil, there will be more than 986 thousand doses, including the second dose for municipalities in the previous stages. The vaccines that must arrive in the municipalities of Médio Vale must be the first dose.
In total, there are six new states and 625 new municipalities served, for a total of 25 states and 1,330 municipalities included. Currently, the vaccines are only applied to children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 14 years.
As of last Monday (22), data from the Directorate of Epidemiology Surveillance (DIVE) showed that Santa Catarina had administered 32,755 doses of the dengue vaccine so far, corresponding to only 22% of the target audience.
