On the 27th, the first meeting of the Confederation of Companies Associated with Tourism will take place in São Sebastião (SãoSebaTur), whose focus is on strengthening the tourism sector in the North Coast region of São Paulo and dialogue with public authorities in order to find solutions that boost the local economy.

Businessmen from the hospitality and restaurant sector, travel agencies, government representatives and members of civil society will attend the assembly. Among the topics on the agenda at the first SãoSebaTur meeting are the promotion of off-season events, training programs to qualify local workers, sustainability initiatives in São Sebastião’s hotel network, and potential improvements in the municipality’s tourism infrastructure.

Thiago Bertasone, president of the association, considers the creation of the SãoSebaTur a landmark in the relationship between the private sector and public power. This is a unique opportunity to boost tourism in the region, address challenges, encourage innovation and develop sustainable tourism. The aim is to attract more and more visitors and bring benefits to all involved, including businesses, society and tourists.

Currently, São Sebastião has 142 accommodation facilities officially registered with MTur, offering tourists more than 8,200 accommodation units, including hotels and hostels. The municipality also has 21 tourist agencies and 14 registered tourist guides, according to Kadstur data.

The founding meeting of SãoSebaTur will take place next Tuesday (27), at 2 pm, at the Villa’l Mare Hotel located on Av. Nova Iguacu, No. 349, on Maresias Beach. It is open to all companies interested in contributing to the growth and development of the tourism sector in the region. More info on this with Thiago via WhatsApp (12) 98261-5153.
