Selena Gomez used her Twitter on Tuesday (08/03) to complain about transplant jokes on TV. The actress had to undergo surgery for a kidney transplant in 2017 – a necessity due to her treatment for lupus.
“I’m not sure writing jokes about organ transplants on TV shows has become a common thing, but unfortunately, it seems so. I hope that in the room next to the writer, when one of these bad jokes is made, she will be told right away and not,” said Selena. Go on air.”
Soon, the artist herself thanked the letters. He encouraged him, saying, “My fans always support me. I love you. If you can, apply to be an organ donor.”

Selena received a kidney donated by her friend Francia Ressa, who announced at the time of the operation that the singer and actress almost died after undergoing the operation.
“The recovery was difficult. I didn’t want to eat, I didn’t want to drink anything. Selena also had complications. A few hours after the surgery, I woke up and got a message from her that said, ‘I’m really scared. My kidneys were very active. And when I turned around,’ Selena’s artery ruptured,” she explained to W magazine in 2018.
Commenting on the seriousness of the situation, she continued, “The doctors had to take her to emergency surgery and take a vein from her leg to build a new artery to keep my kidneys in her body. She could have died.”
