Portugal on the UK Green List

The UK has removed Portugal from the green list for travel. Anyone traveling to the UK must undergo 10 days of isolation and two PCR tests.

Three weeks after being one of the 12 countries that launched the UK Green List, Portugal is no longer considered a safe haven for the British.

The decision of the British Government came into force on Tuesday, June 8, and is valid for all who come from Portugal and the islands. On that day, 10 days of isolation was again mandatory. Isolation is more likely to stop if there is a negative test after the fifth day.

In addition, on return, two PCR tests are required: one on the second day and the other on the eighth day.

Being on the yellow list does not mean that travel to Portugal is prohibited. However, the government only advises people to realize the essential travels and that vacationers should not have their travel insurance valid.

Marcelo Rebello de Sousa says the UK decision to remove the country from the “green list” of international travel is not fair in identifying cases of “Indian diversity”.
