According to information available on the ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal website, three flights operated by TAP, originating from Lisbon and Porto, and three other flights operated by Jet2.com, from the United Kingdom, were canceled due to strong winds that were felt at the airport located in the municipality of Santa Cruz east Madeira.
The operation of the airport in the archipelago has been adapted since Saturday.
On the other hand, the strong sea turmoil caused the cancellation of the voyage of the Lobo Marinho, which established the link between Madeira and Porto Santo, and prevented a cruise ship from docking in the port of Funchal.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed the southern coast of Madeira and Puerto Santo with a yellow warning due to sea waves until 15:00 today.
The north and south coast of Madeira and the mountainous areas of the island are also subject to a yellow warning of rain, sometimes heavy, which may sometimes be in the form of hail with thunderstorms (until 12:00 today) and sometimes strong northeast winds (until 15:00 today). ).
A yellow warning is issued by the IPMA when the weather presents a risk to certain activities.
