The new job is called “explore” (“Discover”), in the bottom bar of the screen. For now, it is only available in beta, for testing. The videos will be excerpts from the official music videos, as presented by product designer Chris Messina, who is responsible for the novelty, during the announcement.

The feature appears to work with the same file tik tok, This allows users to scroll the screen down or up and go directly to the next video. In the bottom corner are the name of the song, artist, and album cover. Users can leave a like.

The purpose is to make the process of discovering new music more attractive. The tool is meticulously designed to suggest songs when the listener wants to increase their playlist.

The platform has not announced when the feed will be available to users, nor whether it will actually be implemented. “We routinely run a series of tests in an effort to improve our user experience,” a Spotify spokesperson told Mashable. “Some of these tests end up paving the way for a broader user experience, and others serve as an important learning curve. We don’t have more news to share at the moment.”
