The new Citroën Basalt about to go on sale has been spotted testing the C3 Aircross wheel covers and a simpler look on the entry version.
One of the most anticipated launches of 2024, the new Citroën Basalt has been spotted testing once again in India. In a video clip published by Rushlane on The new Citroën Basalt will be launched later this year in Brazil.
In the images published by the Indian website, it is possible to see that the basic versions of the Citroën Basalt will have some common elements with the C3 Hatch and C3 Aircross. For example, the split headlights are the same, featuring LED daytime running lights at the top and halogen lights at the bottom.
On the surface, the antenna is traditional – not shark-style like the Basalt Vision concept. On the side, the wheels are made of iron and use the same wheel covers as the C3 Aircross. At the back, LED lights invade the trunk lid. The new Citroën Basalt will be the third launch of the C-Cubed project, which gave rise to the current C3 and C3 Aircross. Like the duo, it will be produced in Puerto Real (RJ).
Inside, the new Citroën Basalt will have a similar design to the C3 and C3 Aircross. However, the coupe SUV should have more refined finishing details and exclusive equipment. The platform will be the modular CMP from the Stellantis range, the same as the other two models from the French brand.
Under the hood, all versions of the new Basalt should have a 1.0 Turbo Flex engine with 130 hp and 200 Nm, which is already present in the Fiat Pulse, Fastback, Strada and Peugeot 208. The transmission will be an automatic CVT type that emulates the 7 Speeds.
