State health workers were present, on Monday (9), at a public hearing to discuss the careers of employees and remuneration in the sector. The request for the meeting came from Representative Lucas Lasmar (RED) and was attended by the President of the Minas Gerais State Doctors Union (Sinmed-MG), Jordani Campos Machado and representatives of the union.
According to the MP, union entities have been discussing a job plan for health workers in Minas Gerais since 2015. State government representatives acknowledged the workers’ demands, but said managers are “stuck” due to the fiscal responsibility law.
“We know the importance, merit and need for career enhancement, and it is clear that recognition runs across a scale that aligns with the work […]But it is important to say that since September 2015, we have been prohibited from increasing spending under the Fiscal Responsibility Act. In the end, this influence it generates, whether it is 1 R$ or millions, is regulated by the law of financial responsibility. “The government itself and the director are stuck,” explained Helga Beatriz Gonçalves, chief advisor for union relations at the Minas Gerais state government.
Despite the conciliatory tone between the parties, no improvement project was presented during the hearing. The Secretariat is “always open to receive staff and improvement proposals,” said the representative of the Secretary of State for Health, Fabio Paceretti, Supervisor of Personnel Management at the State Department of Health, Alice Mello Lope.
