English actress Billie Piper was almost unrecognizable when she replaced her blonde hair with black several years later with the same look. The 39-year-old British actress’s makeover has caused an uproar among celebrity fans and her followers on social media.
“Look at the emo,” Piper wrote in an Instagram post, with a selfie that drew attention to her new look.
“Black-haired Billy Piper, oh my gosh, I’ve never seen this before,” one person wrote in the comment space in a post. Another said, “I loved the change, it was so drastic it was almost unrecognizable.” A third shouted, “I love her!” Another person asked, “Is that really you?”
Piper was 15 years old when she became famous in her homeland.
As a singer, in the late 1990s, she became the youngest artist to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart with the song “Because We Want”. She released her first album in 1998, the second in 2000 and announced in 2003 that she was leaving her singing career to invest in her life as an actress.
Piper’s most famous role was as Rose Tyler on the series Doctor Who – he appeared regularly in productions between 2005 and 2006 and in cameos in 2008, 2010 and 2013.
She has also worked on series such as Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Penny Dreadful and Collateral. For the film Colareral, she was awarded the 2019 award, in the Best Supporting Actress category, at the annual British Academy Television Awards.
Piper is also the lead and co-creator of I Hate Suzie, which was nominated for a 2021 Bafta Award for Best Actress.
