Luísa Sonza released this Tuesday (29) her long-awaited new album, “Escândalo Íntimo”, becoming a topic on social networks. One song on the album in particular caught the internet’s attention: “Penhasco2,” a collaboration with Demi Lovato. The American singer was surprised when she appeared singing in Portuguese alongside the Brazilian.
More than that, Demi’s pronunciation impressed. “Empty words, pieces of love. Let go of your hand. Your absence reverberates, you know. Share this pain of longing with me. Soudady has no translation,” she says in the sentimental ballad. Handsome, right?
But who taught Demi to sing in Portuguese? Singer-songwriter Pepe, known for writing songs for Pablo Vitar, Anita, and even Luisa Sunza herself, was responsible for this feat.
On her Instagram account, she shared a photo of the day I taught her our language and told her what that experience was like: “Spending a day with Demi helping with the phonetics of every word in Portuguese at ‘Penhasco2’ further strengthened the concepts I was thinking about.” True to connecting with the spirit and bringing good in everything we do.”
“I put in a lot of effort and recorded every word with great care and intent. I learned not only about an artist who respects her fellow artists and everyone involved in the creative process, but also about an artist who respects her audience and, most importantly, the music and the energy that is out there.” .
Demi and Luisa will perform at The Town in São Paulo. While Lovato performs on September 2nd, the festival’s debut, Sonza performs the next day, September 3rd. Will the two take the chance to perform together here in Brazil?
