The Federal Revenue Administration announced that consultation on the second batch of 2023 individual income tax refunds will be available as of 10 am on Friday (23). These refunds are due on June 30th.

In this second installment, a total of 5,138,476 taxpayers will be covered, and the total refunds will amount to R$7.5 billion. In the first installment, 4,129,925 taxpayers benefited, the same amount of R$7.5 billion.

The taxpayers who will be able to receive this batch are those who have used the pre-filled statement or have chosen to receive their refund through PIX. Of these, 130,088 are seniors over the age of 80, 978,397 taxpayers between the ages of 60 and 79, 70,589 people with physical or mental disabilities or serious illness, and 468,889 taxpayers. Taxpayers whose primary source of income is teaching, and finally 3,490,513 are taxpayers who do not have statutory priority, but are included at this point due to using the pre-packaged or receiving via PIX option.

It is important to stress that this payment will also cover remaining refunds from previous years.

To check if a refund is available, taxpayers can access the Federal Revenue web page (www.gov.br/receitafederal), click on “My Income Tax” and then on “Check Refund”. In addition, they will be able to perform a full consultation on the status of the declaration, and check if there are outstanding issues through the processing statement, accessed in the e-CAC. If any outstanding or incorrect information is identified, the site will provide the necessary instructions for correction.
