My win this Monday (14) starts with the premise of bringing a lot of high spirits to Globo at 7pm. Everything in the telenovela is designed to delight those in the house: from the opening, with its vibrant colours, to the character contours. Luna (Giovana Cordeiro), for example, is your typical Latina girl. Villain Preciosa (Marina Ruy Barbosa) brings freshness amidst the cauldron of famous and eccentric figures in history.
The series marks the first appearance of Gustavo Reiz on the station and has artistic direction by Fabricio Mamberti, the leader considered the “good people” behind the scenes. He says the biggest challenge was balancing all the visual concepts he created with his team.
“We can really understand what each character’s proposition is and how interesting that balance is. So, it’s a TV series that works very much on emotion and comedy. We have to believe in every proposition, in every plot. I think that was a concern from the beginning,” says Mamberti.
The director also reveals that he has not completed the preparatory work for the cast. Fawzy’s movie is broadcasting live with a recording of 24 chapters – projections indicate that it will contain a total of 173 episodes.
“We worked on preparation not just in the beginning. It’s preparation that stayed active And still active, Because we understand that publishing these 24 chapters is when we learn exactly all the ups and downs and abilities of each character. From there, we are free to fly.”
The festive spirit of the plot will be in the air since its opening, Mamberti explains, whose song Fozzie was an order from Riz to singer Michelle Tello to translate the language of the telenovela.
“I’ve always been a fan of the opening, because I think the opening is an important character in a telenovela. It prepares the viewer’s spirit for what they’re going to see. Sometimes, a telenovela is very vibrant, but the opening is not so much. So, I intended to do a cheerful and dynamic opening, which would be A piece that the public would also like to see,” the author reveals.
Fozzie: Anything can happen
Fawzi’s plot is based on the romantic comedy genre, with some dramatic and mysterious situations. Above all, it is a TV series that contains many references to other series. There are direct homages, such as a TV series character and phrases from the series are used throughout.
“In general, all these references are organically integrated into the plot, and the viewer will pick up one here and another here. This is a TV series for those who really love TV series,” Reiz comments.
Mamberti continues by saying that it is a story with very diverse stories. “As far as we have farce and drama and passion and adventure, we really wanted to work, from the very first moment, that everything was believable. Although the story has many turns, it is one that has a very clear story and objectivity.”
The starting point of the series is Preciosa’s treasure hunt, which indicates that her father has a fortune in the foundations of Fozzie’s shop.
On the other hand, Luna does not leave because she is searching for clues about her missing mother, María Navalha (Olivia Araujo). Luna and Preciosa are sisters, but the girl does not imagine this, while the redhead will do everything so that she never finds out about their kinship.
Nero (Edson Celulari), the owner of Fuzuê, along with his family, are among the most cartoonish characters in the saga. He will give Luna full support to find her mother. The young woman will also fall in love with his heir, Miguel (Nicolas Pratis). Soon, the businessman, interrupted by Preciosa’s Machiavellian plans, will come into contact with her mother Bebel (Lilia Cabral): the two had an overwhelming passion in their youth.
