Explora Journeys, a luxury brand MSC GroupToday (20) officially received its maiden voyage at the Fincantieri shipyard in Montbalcone, Italy, after two schedule delays, the latter of which affected a maiden voyage previously scheduled for July 15 from Southampton, United Kingdom.
Now, the maiden voyage Explore the A 7-night voyage from Copenhagen, Denmark to Reykjavik, Iceland on August 1, 2023 with calls at Lerwick, Shetland Islands and Kirkwall, Orkney, Scotland.
Explora I’s investment totaled more than €500 million, out of a total investment plan of €2.5 billion for the four ships already ordered.

Gianluigi Aponte, founder and chairman of the group, attended the ship delivery ceremony M.Sc; Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Group’s Cruise Division, Joe Africa Vago, the godfather of the ship, Piero Roberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, and representatives, managers and other shipbuilders from the MSC Construction Group.
Explora I itineraries
After the first voyage, the ship will spend a few weeks EuropeSpend the fall in North America, winter in the Caribbean, and spring on the West Coast of the United States and Hawaii before returning to Europe in 2024, offering regular and alternative itineraries.
Combining 7- to 11-night cruises, guests will enjoy “world-class experiential mornings and exhilarating nights.” With unusual arrival and departure times at ports, some with overnight stays, Explora cruises allow guests to enjoy exclusive experiences and a smooth journey.

oh Study II She is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Pontente, Genoa, Italy, and is scheduled to enter service in August 2024. The Explora III will be delivered in 2026, and the Explora IV will be the first of the brand’s two LNG-powered ships to join the fleet in 2027.
