The incident occurred after the alleged fan shouted “quote Hitler” while Zverev was serving in the fourth set. The tennis player interrupted the serve and reported the gesture to the chair referee.
“He just said the most famous phrase of Hitler that exists in this world,” the German tennis player told the referee.

Judge James Keuthavong, from the United Kingdom, consulted security personnel in the stands so that the person responsible could be identified.
A few minutes later, the officials approached a man who was sitting in one of the front rows and ordered him to leave the stadium to the applause of the crowd.
In a post-match interview, Zverev commented on the incident. “I love when the fans scream, I love when the fans get emotional, but I think being German and not being really proud of this history is not really a good thing,” said the tennis player who beat the Sinner 3. Sets to 2 and advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition.
And now, Alexander Zverev, the current world number one, faces Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam tournament. The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday (6).
