The government boosts tourism in Serra do d’Defesor by handing over equipment | Akko government

The boatmen carrying passengers on the Japiim and Moa rivers received 200 new life jackets, a mandatory item during the entire journey between Mâncio Lima and the community of Pé da Serra, where the three lodges are located in the area.

The lodge owners were provided with 36 leggings (equipment used in trails in the woods to avoid snakebites), 26 mattresses, 7 bunk beds and copies of the SDP.

This measure is an initiative of the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism (CET). In total, the total investment is 30 thousand Brazilian riyals. The money comes from the second phase of the REM Acre programme, a partnership between the state, German and UK governments in an initiative aimed at projects to protect and conserve forests. The acronym REM stands for REDD Early Movers, in Portuguese REDD+ for pioneers.

In addition to having one of the greatest biodiversity on the planet, the place is enchanting for its waterfalls.
