According to information from the Newton Freire Maya Science Park, located in Pinhais, in the Curitiba Metropolitan Region (RMC), the season can be observed in the period that marks the end of the afternoon and the beginning of the night. It cannot be seen during the day because it is obscured by the sun. At night, it does not appear either, as it is without solar lighting.

According to a post from the Science Park on social media, in Paraná, it will be possible to observe the space station on the following days and times:

  • May 4, Saturday: 6:19pm to 6:24pm;
  • May 5, Sunday: 7:06pm to 7:11pm;
  • May 6, Monday: 6:17pm to 6:23pm;
  • May 7, Tuesday: 7:05pm to 7:09pm;
  • May 8, Wednesday: 6:15 pm to 6:21 pm.

Tips for seeing the space station

According to the Science Complex, there is no equipment necessary to monitor the station. Just look up at the sky and find a very bright spot.

The International Space Station was built between 1998 and 2011, in a joint operation between several countries. It is 109 meters long and is considered the largest human skeleton ever assembled in space. The device takes 90 minutes to completely orbit the Earth at speeds exceeding 27,000 kilometers per hour.
