A month ago, he says, the group also sent a letter to the ministry questioning the delay in scheduling the event. About ten days ago, the group received notification that the launch would take place, and also asked if there would be an identification of the researchers’ representative.

Halal says he questioned the ministry without an answer but did not receive a response.

“It was clearly a repressive attitude toward me, out of retaliation, that ended up persecuting 68 other researchers who did not testify at CPI who had spent two years working on this project and had their work undervalued,” he says.

Last year, Hilal questioned the ministry for suspending funding for another project, EpiCovid research.

In 2020, Halal was also the target of an investigation by the CGU (Controller General of the Federation) for making a “disrespectful and disrespectful statement addressed to the President of the Republic” at the university’s online event on Covid-19 and signed a behavior modification term to close the case.

He was banned from holding any kind of political demonstrations inside the university and ordered to attend a public service ethics course.

According to him, after he was excluded from the Tuesday event, the researchers plan to release a new version on their own on Thursday, 4 p.m., at a location to be determined.

At the event, representatives of the ministry stated that the document was prepared by 70 researchers, but the names were not mentioned.

And the file stated, in a statement, that “all researchers who participated in the preparation of the “Guide to Physical Activity for the Brazilian Population” received an official statement of thanks and an invitation to participate in the ceremony on Tuesday, approximately, while maintaining security protocols due to the epidemic.”
