The new car also offers 668 liters of trunk space, making it more spacious than the Audi Q4 E-tron and Ford Mustang Mach-E. Once the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats are folded, storage space increases to 1,430 liters.
As standard, the EL6 has all-wheel drive with a front engine producing 201 hp and a rear engine with 282 hp, as in the ET5 Touring. Total power is 482 hp (47 more than the ES6) and torque is 516 lb-ft, allowing for a 0-62 mph time of 4.5 seconds.
The EL6 features continuous damping control to ensure a stable ride, and like the ET5, it will be introduced in China with a high level of self-driving hardware.
Drivers will be able to choose from nine driving modes, and Nio’s self-adjusting braking system, Intelligent Smooth Stop (ISS), makes its first appearance on this model.
The EL6 will be sold in 10 body colors and four interior themes, including two custom colors, Galaxy Shadow for the exterior and Warm Gravel for the interior.
The EL6 continues to use a 70kWh Nio battery, which gives it an official range of just over 300 miles. It’s compatible with Nio’s battery changing stations, which can remove a dead battery and insert a fully charged one in less than five minutes.
