A report presented at a United Nations conference this weekend notes that each of the past eight years has been warmer than at any time before 2015. The scenario shows a worrying deterioration in climate change and global warming.
The annual United Nations Climate Change Conference has reached its 27th edition (COP 27) and is currently being held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. In its presentation at COP27, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported an acceleration of sea level rise, melting glaciers, torrential storms and heat waves.
Below are the effects of climate change. Loss and damage can no longer be ignored.
The #COP27 It should lead to a clear roadmap, with a timeframe for action that reflects the scale and urgency of the challenge.
It is a moral imperative and a matter of solidarity and climate justice. https://t.co/FTg1F2yLll

To avoid worse consequences, nearly 200 countries combined in Egypt aim to keep the average global temperature increase at 1.5°C. However, scientists believe that this mark is already inaccessible: since the 2019 century, the temperature has risen by more than 1.1 ° C, with half of the increase occurring in the past 30 years.
Breaking the disturbing record
While the world records we see in sports competitions, for example, are impressive, not every record is positive. The world’s climate has broken records after records, which has alarmed scientists and world leaders.
Among the negative signs that have been found in recent years: The highest temperatures in the oceanwhich is the largest increase in methane emissionsthe longest series of droughts in East Africa in 40 years, greater melts than ever before from the alpine glaciers and more intense Heat wave ever seen in China. Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps would be jealous.
Who participates in COP27
Although the consequences of climate change have affected the entire planet, the truth is that poor countries, least responsible for the global environmental crisis, are more prone to disasters.
Global leaders such as US President Joe Biden and French Emmanuel Macron are present to discuss climate change. Notable absentees include Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
COP27 continues until the 18th of this month, and Brazil should be present with its delegation and the informal presence of President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, at the invitation of the Egyptian President.
