The English Premier League, the league that organizes the top flight of the English championship, was voted on Monday the best brand among British institutions with a global reach, taking first place in the British Icon Index ranking.
It is the third year in a row that the Premier League has received this recognition and tops the British Icons Index, which measures the positive impact of British brands and organisations.
The British Icon Index is an analysis of 14 of the UK’s most important organisations, industries and brands – including English royalty – looking at public perceptions in 11 different countries.
Yonder Consulting has conducted at least 1,000 interviews in each country. The English Premier League took the first place in the standings, followed by Rolls-Royce (a luxury car company) and British Universities.
According to the survey, 87% of respondents rated the Premier League’s elite league as something that generates a positive idea of the United Kingdom. The Premier League has topped five markets across Africa and Asia.
