The International Atomic Energy Agency has reported that the Russian military is close to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, the country’s largest unit.
According to the UN-related entity, the six reactors at the Zaporizhia plant are currently safe. The Ukrainian authorities are regularly updating the situation.
The International Atomic Energy Agency, whose director general, Rafael Grossi, once again warned against “any action that might threaten the safety” of nuclear facilities in that country, said Russian forces “worked near the plant, but they did not control it.”
A meeting of the Board of Governors was held next Wednesday in Vienna, the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to discuss the “real dangers” posed by the conflict.
