The Turkish Grand Prix did not appear in the original calendar of the season, but it entered as an alternative, as it already did in 2020, after the Canadian stage was canceled, due to the pandemic. However, the stage in Istanbul Park was canceled from the schedule because the country was on the red list of restrictions imposed by the British government as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. But now, with Turkey out of the relationship, the former capital of the Ottoman Empire is back on the calendar to fill the void left by the Singapore Grand Prix and will host round 16 of the tournament between October 1-3.

In this way, Turkey will form the second part of the third round of the third scheduled for the 2021 season. The race will take place in Istanbul Park one week after the Russian Grand Prix, in Sochi Olympic Park, and one week before the Japanese GP, is currently in the championship schedule.
