This weekend’s UFC Fight Night will feature what should be an interesting contest between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez, as both men look to stay in the fight for the featherweight title.
Ortega (15-2, 1 no contest) last fought in September, when his second golden chance ended in defeat – just like the first – when he defeated American Alexander Volkanovsky.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez (13-3, 1 NC) was not yet in contention for the title, but the Mexican showed his potential in a brave points loss to former champion Max Holloway in November. The dynamic striker even said the UFC guaranteed him a title win if they beat Ortega on Saturday.
The jiu-jitsu specialist Ortega will likely need more wins if he is to fight for the belt again, having lost to Holloway before losing to Volkanovsky, meaning Saturday’s main event is an important battle for California.
Here’s everything you need to know.
