UK GDP fell by 0.2% in the quarter to November

Monthly GDP is expected to grow by 0.3% in November 2023, after an unrevised 0.3% decline in October; the largest contribution came from a 0.4% increase in services.

The UK's real gross domestic product fell by 0.2% in the quarter ending in November 2023, compared with the three months to August last year, according to estimates released on Friday (12) by the Office for National Statistics.

Monthly GDP is also expected to grow by 0.3% in November 2023, after an unrevised 0.3% decline in October.

Services activity rose by 0.4% on the month and was the main contributor to monthly growth in UK gross domestic product, according to the Office for National Statistics. The result follows a 0.1% decline in October 2023.

Industrial production grew 0.3% in November, after falling 1.3% in October.

The construction sector fell 0.2% during the month, after falling 0.4% in October.
