The UK Treasury said via Twitter that the publication of the UK tax plan will be brought forward to October 31. The plan was due to be published on November 23, but has faced pressure since announcing a broad package of unfunded tax cuts, the agency picked early.
According to Finance Minister Kwasi Kwarting, in a letter published by the Treasury, the new date will allow the financial plan to be finalized and the data updated by the Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR). “It is important that the forecast includes a full and final assessment of the impact of policy measures on the economy and public finances, and it would not be appropriate to publish the preliminary analysis provided by the Office of Budget Responsibility.”
Last week, a misunderstanding in Courting’s letter prompted local newspapers to publish that the plan would be presented, information which the minister denied.
