Ukrainian children with cancer will be taken to the UK for further treatment – Crescer

Ukraine’s Health Minister Sajid Javid has decided that children undergoing cancer treatment should be urgently transferred to the UK. Recently, the Russians attacked several health facilities in Ukraine, which led to the discontinuation of treatment.

According to information from The SunThe authorities in the country are working to get the children’s visas approved as quickly as possible. An (unnamed) health source told the website: “We are making urgent plans to evacuate many children and their families to the UK, where they will be cared for and treated for their condition.”

Also according to The Sun, Javid signed the determination last Tuesday (8) and a charter plane is being prepared to transport the children and their families in the next few days. The Minister of Health also stated that at least 16 health facilities were clearly attacked by Russian forces.

At least 17 people were injured on Wednesday after a Russian air strike destroyed a maternity hospital in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol. The country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said children were left under the rubble after the attack and described the situation as “terrible”.
