The Ashcourt Group from the United Kingdom has placed the largest single order for Volvo Electric trucks, and is receiving four units of the FH Electric 6×2 for use with PBTC trailers of up to 44 tonnes.

Along with tipper-type equipment, the trucks will be used in the Queen Elizabeth Dock and Foster Street areas in Hull and Pocklington, near York.

The trucks get packs of six batteries that guarantee a maximum range of 300 km and can be recharged in two and a half hours using a fast charger.

Each truck is equipped with three electric motors that generate up to 666 hp and 2,400 Nm of continuous torque, this enormous power controlled by a unique traction control system.

The FH Electric uses the same gearbox as the diesel models, the 12-speed I-Shift, which provides a smooth and comfortable driving experience.

The customer also opted for the Volvo Dynamic Steering system, which offers effortless steering and excellent maneuverability and adaptive cruise control.

The rooms are very comfortable, of Globetrotter standard, with extras like extra lockers, fridge and bottle holders.
