WhatsApp is setting up a Do Not Disturb feature that blocks annoying people

WhatsApp is known, among other things, for testing various updates with users. The latest update in beta shows that the messenger is preparing a function that blocks calls from strangers, which, if implemented, will make life easier for many people.

The information was provided by the specialized website WABetaInfo, which says that the new function is still in the development stage. According to the website, the feature is located directly in the app’s settings, and once enabled, all incoming calls from numbers not saved in the user’s contacts are silenced.

Despite the movement around the novelty, the Meta team and WhatsApp have yet to confirm the tool.

Two novelties have grabbed users’ attention in recent weeks. The first is already available to those who have the latest version of iOS, the operating system for iPhones. In the application of this version it is already possible to create your own stickers directly on the phone, using the tool that used to be called “sticker maker tool”.

To do this, the user just has to paste the desired image into the chat and the app will convert it automatically.

Another novelty is the issuance of payments using WhatsApp Pay by the Central Bank of Brazil. Within up to 30 days it will be possible to use this payment method for purchases in establishments, using the Visa and Mastercard brands. The novelty should make life easier for small businesses, which accept orders by messenger.

The first version of WhatsApp Pay arrived in Brazil in 2021, but it was banned at that time by the National Monetary Authority. Since then, what has been in the works has been the transfer of values via WhatsApp, in a service similar to Pix, but requiring those involved to be customers of partner banks. Additionally, there is a list of card brands that support the feature.
